Scholarship Project

Str8way has been desiring and working towards offering scholarships to nationals who desire to serve the Lord but may not have the opportunities they need or want to make an impact. Kari and I had mentioned 4 individuals to the Greg, the Director of Str8way, before he came down here this past week. We weren't sure what his response would be, but he was very excited to get to meet them. So Friday night we took those 4 young men out to dinner to talk to them about their dreams and present them with an application to apply for the scholarship program. We are now waiting for them to submit their applications as the launch of our scholarship program. There are two types of scholarships they can apply for:

Education Scholarship: This scholarship is designed to provide the opportunity to begin or complete university or technical training to prepare them for their chosen career field. This scholarship can be applied towards tuition fees and material costs. The goal of this scholarship is that they would have the opportunity for quality job training where they will be sharing the testimony of what Jesus has done in their life through their integrity and daily living in the work place.

Ministry Scholarship: This scholarship is designed for those who are feeling led towards ministry outreach but still need to provide for their everyday living and possibly families. This scholarship can be applied towards ministry costs or helping to cut back on the necessity of having a full-time job. The goal of this scholarship is that they would have the opportunity to spend more time focusing on ministry.
