Lasting Relationships

This past week we had a great surprise by being able to see one of the children from the Douglas Children's Home in Masaya, Nicaragua that we used to visit. Milagro is a very special girl who has symptoms of Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. Her sister, Angela (who cleans our house), and her were at the Douglas home since the first time Str8way went to visit. We weren't ever sure what happened to all of the children when it was shutdown by the Nicaraguan government... Milagro went back to live with her father, whom we also got to meet this past week. Earlier this year we were sad to hear that Milagro, at the young age of 14, had been raped and was pregnant. On August 11, 2010 she had her little baby girl, Solimar José. This past week Milagro, Solimar, and Milagro's father came to Diriamba to visit Angela and her family. We were able to go and spend a good part of the morning with them.
